I praise the Lord you were able to get out! In my case my abuser had help which made it more difficult and when you are separated from resources and family sometimes you feel helpless. Stay encouraged as we continue to fight against this type of crimes against women!

I was strangled with a phone cord and we fought in the 90s... I left him that night and didn't look back that was the first and last time a man put his hands on me I was 19....most women thinking he will change will stay for years or go back to their abuser WHY?/ they don't change !!!

I'm currently going to college for Business management. Looking to get into HR. I've already been in management. Can you do a video that touches on companies that hire internally and who always picks the ones who are less deserving of the position. For instance, I had a boss who told me flat out that I didn't get promoted because my partner didn't do a good job in our dept. And if she had stayed in our dept and I had progressed in that promotion then our dept would've flunked! Do you know how hard I took that?! She ended up getting fired due to lack of performance and not taking initiative. Surprise surprise.

Do you have any advice for recent college graduates who may not have the required experience needed for the positions?

I failed mine this morning. I studied for 4 months. :(

I'm a victim as well of domestic abuse out 7 months..he was a narcissist and the last time Nov 5th I fled no shoes on and started my life completely over at 61.. everything I have is bc God restored me.I lost everything I had known ppl included..He fronts himself as the victim of abusing me which is sad to me that a victimizer can act as victim or hero.I do know God has me and will vindicate and restore me.I applaud all who leave them behind,your future is bright and you have purpose..

Why I'm mam..my pay stub is no rate and hours..and plenty deductions and I have retro base pay but I didn't receive.. I'm Custodian at state government..my work work place is Kauai High School..Lihue Kauai Hawaii 96766..

It is so improbable making professional blogs and using profanities. So distasteful as a HR professional.

My background check said to not disclose charges that have not been convicted. I have a pending DUI charge and I do not have a court date yet. If a pending charge would show, then why they do not want me to disclose it?

I just took my exam on Friday and got a preliminary fail. I spent 6 months utilizing the SHRM learning system and I don’t remember seeing any of the content on the exam in that learning system! I knew halfway through the exam that I was going to fail. I’m so disappointed in myself and feel horrible and depressed for failing.

I am so happy for you! You are strong and resilient. You did something when you realized he was abusive. It was hard and you lived through it! I supervise over 20 women and some of them are in very difficult situations. Couple of them talked to me and we problem solved and we came up with a plan and the plan worked and they are better off now, but it is difficult when the woman is quiet and does not share anything with her co-workers and supervisors. I know, not every work place is accepting of family situations. I work for non-profit and we are extremely family -friendly. I am in constant communication with employees I supervise and we all work as a team. And some women still do not feel comfortable to disclose anything to anyone. So we all wait until they do. Or give us something we can act upon. I usually tell them in our individual meetings: I sense that something is happening, you don’t have to disclose anything , but if you need anything, you have my number. Just text. I am here for you.

What Advice would you give a first time HR MANAGER?

Fortunately, job descriptions have changed. I’m an HR Analyst. One of my responsibilities is processing payroll, so I must deal with employees (people)😉
